George Barnes

George Barnes was an American jazz guitarist born on July 17, 1921 in Gary, Indiana. He began playing guitar at a young age and was influenced by the music of Django Reinhardt, Freddie Green and Charlie Christian. He became a professional musician in the 1940s and played with big bands and small groups, developing a unique style that combined elements of swing and bebop. Barnes is considered one of the most influential jazz guitarists of all time and is remembered for his virtuosic technique, innovative chord voicings, and creative solos.
