Charlie Byrd

Charlie Byrd was an American jazz guitarist known for his fingerstyle and classical guitar techniques. He was a pioneering figure in popularizing bossa nova and Brazilian music in the United States, and was a member of the legendary jazz group The Great Guitars. Born in Suffolk, Virginia in 1925, Byrd began playing the guitar at an early age and was heavily influenced by Django Reinhardt and other jazz greats. He had a prolific career, recording over 20 albums and performing extensively throughout the United States and internationally.
