Eddie Lang was an American jazz guitarist born on March 26, 1902 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was one of the first professional jazz guitarists and was widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of jazz guitar. Lang’s virtuosity and fluid playing style earned him recognition as one of the great jazz guitarists of all time. He worked with many of the biggest names in jazz during his career, including Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, and Bix Beiderbecke. He died in a freak accident in 1933 at the age of 31, but his contributions to jazz guitar have continued to inspire musicians to this day.
