Ted Greene was an American jazz guitarist and music educator, born in 1944 in Los Angeles, California. He was best known for his innovative approach to solo guitar performance. Greene was a self-taught musician and had a deep knowledge of harmony and chord structures, which he shared through his many instructional books and lessons. He was highly regarded by other guitarists, including Chet Atkins, Pat Metheny, and Tommy Emmanuel, and his influence continues to be felt in the world of jazz guitar.
