Ed Bickert was a Canadian jazz guitarist. He was a sought-after session musician and also recorded many albums as a bandleader. He was known for his ability to play with clarity and sensitivity, and for his ability to support other musicians using sophisticated ‘piano like’ voicings. His playing has been described as “subtle, elegant, and understated”. His influence on jazz guitar has been widely recognized.
